Job Description: Forklift Driver

Position Summary

We are seeking a reliable and safety-conscious Forklift Driver to join our team. The ideal candidate will operate forklifts to transport, load, and unload materials in a warehouse, manufacturing plant, or similar setting. This role requires a commitment to following safety regulations, attention to detail, and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Operate forklifts and other material handling equipment to move goods safely and efficiently.
  • Load and unload materials from trucks, shelves, or pallets and deliver them to designated storage or production areas.
  • Inspect forklifts daily to ensure proper functioning and report any maintenance needs.
  • Organize and secure materials to ensure they are stored safely and efficiently.
  • Maintain accurate records of materials moved and inventory levels using manual or computerized systems.
  • Follow company safety protocols and adhere to OSHA and other regulatory requirements.
  • Assist in general warehouse or yard duties, including cleaning and organizing workspaces.
  • Work collaboratively with team members and communicate effectively to support operational goals.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
  • Valid forklift operator certification (or ability to obtain certification upon hire).
  • Proven experience as a forklift driver or in a similar role is preferred.
  • Familiarity with warehouse management systems and basic inventory tracking is a plus.
  • Ability to lift heavy objects and work in various weather conditions, depending on the job site.
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to maintaining a safe work environment.
  • Good organizational and time-management skills.

Working Conditions

  • May involve working indoors in a warehouse or outdoors in a yard or storage area.
  • Exposure to noise, heavy machinery, and varying temperatures.
  • Requires physical effort, including lifting, bending, and standing for extended periods.

Schedule
