Job Description: Maintenance Technician

Position Summary

We are seeking a skilled and dependable Maintenance Technician to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for maintaining and repairing manufacturing equipment to ensure smooth and efficient operations. This role requires strong technical skills, attention to detail, and working effectively in a dynamic industrial environment. A Maintenance Technician at our facility will play a crucial role in our operations.

Key Responsibilities

  • Service and maintain manufacturing equipment, including air compressors, HVAC, chillers, motors, industrial controls, and production-related machinery in the electrocoating and powder coating process.
  • Inspect and assess the functionality of equipment to identify issues and determine repair needs effectively as a technician.
  • Troubleshoot mechanical breakdowns and adjust mechanical parts using hand and machine tools.
  • Perform routine preventative maintenance and safety checks to minimize downtime.
  • Conduct scheduled and emergency repairs on production equipment as needed to ensure seamless maintenance.
  • Communicate effectively with management and supervision regarding maintenance activities and equipment status.
  • Operate mobile equipment and use various tools and machinery, such as drills, grinders, impact wrenches, welders, and hydraulic presses.
  • Ensure compliance with company safety protocols and OSHA regulations.

Qualifications

  • Proficiency in using essential hand tools and machinery (e.g., drills, grinders, welders, torches, forklifts, hydraulic presses).
  • Ability to work in a hot, humid, cold, and noisy industrial environment. Adaptability is key for a maintenance technician.
  • Capable of performing repetitive and physically demanding tasks for extended periods (lifting, climbing, pushing, stooping).
  • Minimum 2 years of experience, education, or training in industrial maintenance.
  • At least 1 year of experience repairing and performing preventative maintenance on industrial equipment.
  • Reliable transportation is required.
  • Strong ability to read and write correctly.

Working Conditions

  • Manufacturing facility – adherence to all safety regulations and PPE requirements (e.g., gloves, steel-toe shoes, safety glasses).
  • Non-climate-controlled environment with potential exposure to varying temperatures and noise levels. A Maintenance Technician must be prepared for these conditions.
  • Regular attendance and punctuality are essential.
  • Overtime may be required based on operational needs.

Schedule

  • 1st Shift: 6:00 AM start time
  • 2nd Shift: 3:30 PM start time
  • Monday through Friday, 8-hour shifts
  • Occasional weekends and overtime as required
